Shirley Johnson, 81, of Williston, passes away at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center on Monday afternoon, October 23, 2017.
Shirley was born on May 3, 1936 in Williston, North Dakota to Clifford and Faye Nelson. She lived in Williston, and she also lived in Glendive, Montana for a time while her husband, Harris Johnson, was in the Eastern Montana VA Home until his passing in 1998.
Shirley worked for her uncle Bob Smith, at the Club News Stand where she met her husband, Harris. They were married on September 16, 1956. Together, she and Harris had five daughters and one son. She was well known for riding her bike, babysitting her grandchildren, and working for several maid services.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, Clifford and Faye Nelson, three brothers, John, George, and James; her husband, Harris; and her youngest daughter, Gail.
Shirley is survived by her children, Dee (Murry) Fly of Leander, TX; Greg Johnson of Wills Point, TX; Debra Robb of Williston, ND; Doreen Watkins of Willis Point, TX; and Dianne Johnson of Rugby, ND; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home in Williston. Dick Eaton will officiate.
Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 25, from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and for the hour preceding the service at the funeral home on Thursday.
Interment in Riverview Cemetery will take place at a later date.
