His Funeral Service will be held at 3:00 PM on October 30, 2017 at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home Chapel in Williston.

In Lieu of Flowers, Allen’s family has requested that donations be given to Williston Hospice, 1301 15th Ave West or Mondak Animal Rescue,


Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home on Sunday, October 29, from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM and on Monday from 9:00 AM until the service.


Burial in Riverview Cemetery will follow his celebration of life.

Immediately following the burial, Allen’s family would like to invite people to join them in honoring is memory with food and fellowship at the Williston ARC.

Allen Ressler, 77, of Williston, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family, under the care of hospice on Friday morning, October 27, 2017.

Allen R. Ressler was born in Mandan, North Dakota to Alphonse and Clarice (Bumann) Ressler on December 17, 1939. He was raised and educated in Mandan graduating from Mandan High School in 1957.

In 1959, Allen was united in marriage to Pat Zachmeier in Mandan, ND. To this union were born their three daughters.

Allen worked for MDU for fifty years, first as a lighting consultant in Bismarck, and then in 1971 he transferred to Williston as a power plant operator and later as a Natural Gas Compression Chief Operator. He retired from MDU in 2002.

Allen was an avid golfer and was active in the Moose, Elks and was a past member of the Mandan Park Board. He enjoyed going to Arizona for the winter and having coffee with his friends and spending time with his family.

Surviving Allen are his daughters, Cheryl Halvorson and her husband, Gerald and their children Jason Halvorson, Jennifer (Bob) Will and Chantz Halvorson; Deeann Long and her husband, Hugh and their children, Alicia (Ryan) Hutzenbiler and Emily Long; and Holly Cummins and her husband, Cy and their children Allen Linghor and Derrick (Katy) Linghor; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry (Carla) Ressler of Mandan, and one niece, Crystal Busch.

Preceding Allen in death were his parents, Alphonse and Clarice Ressler and one infant brother, Alphonse.

Allen’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Al McFarlane, the staff at Dakota Farms and all of his friends at the Barber Shop for their kindness and friendship.
