Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Williston, ND. Father Russel Kovash will officiate.

An Evening Vigil with a Rosary will be held Thursday evening, January 18, at 7:00 PM at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center Chapel in Williston.
Margaret's family will be greeting visitors at the Bethel Home Chapel Thursday evening from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.


Friends may call at Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home on Thursday, January 18 from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM and for the hour preceding the service at the church on Friday.

In keeping with Margaret’s wishes, cremation has taken place and interment in Riverview Cemetery will be in the spring.

Margaret Healy, 90, of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Sunday morning, January 14, 2018 at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Williston.

Margaret Ann (Woods) Healy was born on June 27, 1927 to Francis and Catherine (Rafferty) Woods in New York, New York. She was born and raised with three brothers and two sisters – called the “Woods Gang of East 137th Street”. She was raised in Bronx, New York and graduated in 1945 from Walton High School. She was an excellent athlete in her youth and she was the undefeated stick ball champion in her neighborhood.

Margaret married John Dennis Healy in New York City in 1947. Together they had a son, Dennis. Margaret and Dennis moved to Williston with young Dennis in 1956. She worked for MDU as a secretary at that time. The marriage ended in divorce, she returned to New York City with her son, and she never remarried.

Margaret moved back to Williston in 1971 to live with Dennis and Jane. She helped them raise their seven children. She was a second mother to them and was “Nanny” to all the neighborhood children.

Margaret always had a song to sing for everyone and shared her talent for over the ten years she resided at Bethel Home. She considered the people at Bethel Home her family.

She is survived by her son, Dennis (Jane) Healy; seven grandchildren, Maureen Ann Healy and her son, Drake of Williston, ND, Dennis Patrick Healy (Erica) and their children, Reese, Brian, and Easton of Fargo, ND, John Healy (Jennifer) and their children, Lila, Nolan, and Bryson of Bismarck, ND, Jennifer Healy and her boyfriend Rick Lacey of Grand Forks, ND, Mechelle (Joseph) Mortenson and their children, Eden, Asher, Cohen and Everly of Williston, ND, Jana Healy of Fargo, ND, and Sara Healy and her life partner Cass Swenson of Duluth, MN; numerous nieces and nephews in New York, Pennsylvania and Conneticut whom she dearly loved. Some of Margaret’s family still live in County Monaghan in Ireland.

Preceding Margaret in death are her parents, Frank and Catherine Woods; sisters and brothers in law, Kathleen and Robert Carolan, Mary and John O’Keefe; brother and sister in law Joseph and June Woods; brothers, Patrick Woods and Francis Woods, all of the New York area.

The family wishes to thank the special caregivers of the Bethel Lutheran Home for the love and kindness they showed to Margaret over the years.
