Robert Alvin Barke, 59, of Dutton, Montana, formerly of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Wednesday evening, January 17, 2018 the result of a vehicle accident near Watford City, ND.
Robert was born to Dewayne A. and Delores “Babe” (Kluken) Barke in Williston, North Dakota on December 6, 1958. He was raised and educated in Williston with his brother and two sisters.
Upon his father’s death, Robert joined the Army at the age of 17 and served in Vietnam. After completing his service, Robert returned to North Dakota and spent several years working in the oil fields until moving to Montana, where he spent several years working in the construction industry before returning to the North Dakota Oil fields again in 2014.
While living in Montana, Robert was united in marriage to Carla Crush. Together they had one son, Jeremy Barke. After their separation, Robert purchased a home in Dutton, Montana where he lived with his current girlfriend, Courtney Jean Loney and her two children, Emma (Emo) and Mason.
Robert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent much of his free time with his family and friends in the mountains and waters of Montana and North Dakota. These are the places he taught his son life lessons and forged lasting friendships. Robert was a tough son of a bitch and always genuine, He was quick to get a laugh, always willing to help a friend or neighbor in need and will be missed by many.
Surviving Robert are his son, Jeremy Barke; brother, Wayne (Donna) Barke; sister, Barbara A. Wright and his girlfriend, Courtney Jean Loney.
Preceding Robert in death were his parents, Dewayne and Babe (Kluken) Barke and his sister, Kathy Erlenbusch.
