Residence : Williston, North Dakota
Age : 85

Inez Zimmer, 85, of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Williston.

Inez was born November 21, 1932 to Evald and Elenoria (Sandaker) Thomson. She was raised on the family farm. She participated in 4H where she raised and showed cows. She was especially proud that she was the first female to have a championship cow in Williams County and held that honor for several years.

On December 28, 1951 she married LeRoy Zimmer. They made their home in Williston after LeRoy completed his time in the Army. They proudly built their own home with the help of friends and family. They raised four daughters. The happiest times was when the house was filled with family and friends, playing cards and other games, and family outings camping, fishing and hunting together.

Inez joined the Quilters Guild and displayed many of her quilts at local Quilt Shows and events. LeRoy built special racks for the guild to display their quilts at many events. She was proud of the handmade quilts she made for members of her family.

Surviving Inez are her children, Carleen Pickering of Brandon, MS, RoseMarie Kern of Devine, TX, Kathy Zimmer of Williston, Gale (Jeff) Frye of Surprise, AZ; grandchildren, Carla Thomson, Angela Lindstrom, Jennifer Locke, Vanessa Pizana, Jessica Trigueino, Matthew (Meghan) Pickering, Shawna Wood; 15 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson; and her sister, Ruth Olson of Williston.

Preceding Inez in death are her parents, Evald and Elenoria; her husband, LeRoy; her sister, Marguerite and brother, Laurence.

The Everson Coughlin Funeral Home of Williston is caring for the family.
