Robert “Bob” Marmon, 81 years young, of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Saturday morning, March 3, 2018 at the Bethel Lutheran Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Williston.
Robert “Bob” Marmon was born in Williston, North Dakota on July 29, 1936. He was the seventh son of Mort and Celeste Marmon from White Earth. Bob’s family moved to Williston when he was seven years old.
In March of 1961 Bob was united in marriage to Patsy Turcotte. Together they had three children, Roland E. (Kelly) of Arizona, Revelle J. of Williston and Ramona R. (Eric Parrish) of Williston. Bob also had three children with his first marriage, Roberta Lynn, Russell D. and Randall W. who passed away in January of 2017. Bob and Patsy have seven grandchildren, Bobbi, Styles, Austin, Jason, Jade, Sage and Corbin. Bob was also a great-grandfather to Jaxon and Jadyn Krieger and Elizabeth and Sophia Inman.
Bob was mainly educated in Williston. He quit school only two weeks before graduating to take a job with Amerada Hess. For almost four decades, most of Bob’s work was in the oil patch, including high scaling Yellow Tail Dam during its construction in 1964-66. From 1970-1991 Bob worked for Combined Insurance. He finished his working career at the International inn where he worked as a maintenance man.
Bob loved to hunt and fish, he loved being outdoors, and enjoyed gathering all of the children together, his and everyone else’s and take them to the river. Whoever didn’t fit inside of the car, rode on the outside, in the trunk or on the hood! Bob was the biggest kid of them all!
Bob was loved by all who knew him and will be dearly missed by all. Bob’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Peggy Martinez whose help was greatly appreciated.
