Arnold “Arnie”Orville Johnson, 88, of Alamo, North Dakota, passed away Sunday morning, September 9, 2018 at CHI St. Alexius Health Williston Medical Center.
Arnold was born on December 10, 1929 in Appam, ND to Bert and Hilda (Krabseth) Johnson. He attended school in Appam, and also the Quie School. He delivered mail which took him on routes between Appam and Grenora. Arnold also served in the U.S. Army as an artilleryman, stationed at Fort Meade, Maryland from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955.
On December 7, 1962, Arnie was united in marriage to Gladys Knudsvig at the Trinity Lutheran Church, rural Ambrose. The couple lived on the farm, South of Alamo.
Arnie had a love for farming, gardening and raising his chickens, he also enjoyed driving his Studebaker and collecting and restoring antiques.
Arnold was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; parents, Bert and Hilda; brothers, Kenneth Johnson, Laverne Johnson, Robert Johnson, Richard Johnson, and sister-in-law, Carol Johnson,
He is survived by his brother, LeRoy (Bonnie) Johnson, of Montana; sisters-in-law, Stella Johnson of Hazen, North Dakota and Stella Johnson of Clarkston, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
