Her Funeral Service will be celebrated Saturday morning, February 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Everson Coughlin Funeral Home Chapel in Williston.

Visitation

Friends may call at the Everson Coughlin Funeral Home on Friday, February 15th from 9:00 AM until 7:00 PM and for the hour preceding the service at the funeral home on Saturday, February 16th.

Cemetery

Interment will be held in the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Minot in the spring of 2019.

Doris W. Hering, 87, of Bismarck, formerly of Williston, North Dakota, passed away Saturday morning, February 9, 2019 at the Augusta Place in Bismarck.

Doris Harstad was born on August 9, 1931, the 13th child of Mikkel and Carrie (Kulseth) Harstad in Williston, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in Williston, graduating from Williston High School. Doris then graduated from the Trinity Nursing Program in Minot.

On October 13, 1951 Doris was united in marriage to LeRoy Hering in Williston.

Doris work as a registered nurse at the Garrison Hospital, Good Samaritan and Mercy Hospital in Williston and the Trinity Clinic of Williston. She retired as a Public Health nurse for Upper Missouri District Health Unit in Williston.

She was a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, enjoyed crocheting and was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins.

Doris is survived by her children, Karen (Bill) Egge, Kimberly (Donald) Egge, Susan (Jim) Lunde, Mikkel (Deena) Hering, Coralynn (Boyd) Dallmann, grandchildren, Scott Egge, Anthony Lambert, Dawn Krein, Shawn Egge, Jennifer Bowerman, Chris Lunde, Stephanie Caspers, Kyle Hering, Cody Hering and eighteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, LeRoy Hering; parents, Mikkel and Carrie Harstad; Doris was the last surviving sibling of her six sisters, Elva, Minnie, Cora, Sylvia, Borghild and Inga; six, brothers, Emry, Alvin, Mitchell, Orville, Paul, and Edwin.
