Birth Date: December 11, 1923
Place of Birth: Wildrose, North Dakota
Date Departed: June 30, 2011
Resided: Williston, North Dakota, formerly of Wildrose
Age: 87

Eunice Frnatzik was born to Alfred and Esther (Moberg) Frantzick on December 11, 1923 in Williams County. She was baptized at St. Pauli Lutheran Church in rural Wildrose. The Frantzick family farmed south of Wildrose. Eunice attended country school and graduated from Wildrose High School in 1941. Following high school she earned her teaching certificate and taught for three years at Anderson country school. In 1946, she was united in marriage to Ellsworth Jacobson of Wildrose. The two made their home in rural Wildrose, settling on the Jacobson family farm in 1954 where they enjoyed raising their 6 children and working the land. They lived on the farm until 2001, when they moved to Williston. Throughout their years together, they enjoyed square dancing, travelling, and spending time with friends. Eunice eventually moved to the Kensington and then to Bethel Lutheran Home, both in Williston, where she spent her final years.

Eunice held several jobs throughout her lifetime including waitressing, teaching, and driving a rural mail route. She found the most joy in being a mother and grandmother. She loved hosting celebrations for family and friends. No one was a stranger in her home. She had a special talent for cooking, and made every meal and gathering special. Eunice was also an avid quilter and seamstress. Through the years she made hundreds of quilts for family, friends, and neighbors.

Eunice was an active member of the Wildrose community. She was a charter member of the Happy Workers Homemakers. She and Ellsworth were active in Farmers Union, and she took a special interest in youth education. Eunice was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Wildrose, taking part in circle, Ladies Aid, and quilting. She was also active in the Wildrose Senior Citizens, North Dakota Cattle Women, and the Sons of Norway in Tioga.

Eunice was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers Raymond and Lester; sister Carol Lervick; daughter-in-law Kim Jacobson; niece Cheryl Hilleran; and nephews Lanny Frantzick, Arlan Frantzick, Rollie Martinson and James Martinson.

She will be missed by her children Sharon (Bruce) Rosten; Dennis (Karen); Eldo (Michele) all of Wildrose. Arlis (Bruce) Ley of Rapid City, SD; Bruce Jacobson of Post Falls, ID; and Kayleen Loyd (Keith Theesen) of Hobart, OK. She is also survived by her sister, Elaine Kvilhaug of Billings, MT; sisters-in-law, Melba Jacobson, of Williston and Pearl Frantzick of Poplar, MT; brother-in-law, Jerome Lervick of Arnegard; 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
