David Allen Jorgenson
June 26, 1960 - February 8, 2018

Place of Birth : Garrison, North Dakota
Residence : Williston, North Dakota
Age : 57

David Allen Jorgenson, 57, of Williston, passed away at his home, surrounded by his family on Thursday, evening, February 8, 2018.

David Allen Jorgenson had a full life in his 57 years. Born June 26, 1960 in Garrison, North Dakota, he was the son of Myron and Judy Jorgenson. Growing up on a farm, he later found a calling in planting trees on farms in Ray and Parshall.

He graduated from Parshall High School in 1979. He then went to Williston State College and graduated with a degree in auto tech in 1981.

On August 15, 1981 he married Susan Tong, who he continued to love and frustrate for 36 years. They had two children. Jennifer and Nathan to whom he taught many life lessons. He was so proud of them and loved them. David was also a proud papa to Emily and Ethan Radovich. Emily hugs and Ethan knucks were favorites.

David wore many hats. He went to school for Auto tech at WSC. He had various jobs with the oil field, including PAMCO, Tractor and Equipment, FM Forklift and Rocket Sales. He decided he wanted to do something different when he grew up and went back to college and graduated from DSU in 1995 with a BA in Mathematics. While he was going to school, he worked as a blackjack dealer at El Rancho, and Midway Lounge. And of course, you guessed it, he met a lot of great people and made several good friends.

David started teaching math at Williston High School in 2000 where he earned the nickname “the Grinch” and “Jorgy”. He touched the hearts and minds of students for 17 years. His “Need a hug”, Grinch costume, and jokester attitude will be missed by staff and students alike. He “retired” in November of 2017 due to his health problems, but he still had a huge teacher heart for students and staff, and he kept involved.

David’s favorite thing in the world was fishing. He would rarely be seen in the summer months, because he was out on the water. As much as people loved him, fish feared him. He knew everyone by their boat when he was on the water. He very seldom got skunked and he loved to put on a fish fry for anyone who would want to come and eat.

David is preceded in death by his mother and father, Myron and Judy; his nephews, Ricky and Tommy Jorgenson; his in laws, Arla and Robert Tong; and his grandparents.

David is remembered by his wife of 36 years, Susan; Jennifer, Rudy, Emily and Ethan Radovich, Nathan and Sara Jorgenson, siblings; Jim (Tammy) Jorgenson, Jeannette (Rob) Schaf, Myron Jr. (Jackie) Jorgenson, Dawn (Aubrey) Jorgenson. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and the thousands of lives he touched day after day.

David touched the lives of so many people, yet he just always felt he could never do enough. He had a big heart underneath the rough, gruff, look that people sometimes saw. He raised a great family, and everything that he did was to make life better for them. He will be so missed. RIP David. Love You!
